In January, Walmart said it would be opening its first electric guitar store in the U.S., as well as its first guitar store for guitarists.
The store will open in the former Walmart parking lot at 3121 East Michigan Street in the Midtown shopping district.
The stores are expected to be open by the end of 2017.
Walmart, which has its headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., said it expects the electric guitar to be a “game changer” for the guitar industry.
The new stores will also open the first stores for guitar players in the United States.
The company previously opened two stores in the Portland, Ore., and New York City areas, according to a Walmart spokeswoman.
The Portland store opened in February and the New York store opened last month.
The company is also planning to open a new store in California, but the first store is still expected to open later this year.
