A woman died after a crash in the US state of Montana on Wednesday, local media reported.

The woman died in the crash, which occurred in the town of Bismarck, which is located in the northern part of the state, Montana Highway Patrol said in a statement.

It said the woman was traveling on a bike and did not stop when the driver of a pickup truck struck her from behind.

“The driver was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle,” the statement said.

The incident took place around 1:20 p.m.

(2320 GMT) near Bismarcke and was not recorded on the highway patrol’s Facebook page.

The crash occurred on the northbound side of Highway 1, and the pickup truck was traveling westbound on the same road, according to the statement.

“Traffic was backed up on the roadway due to the crash,” the agency said.

“We are investigating the cause of the crash.

The cause of death is still pending investigation.”
